An angry Russian woman is fighting a public
transportation plague known as “manspreading.
” She is doing this by pouring a bleach-and-water mixture onto men’s
crotches.
“Manspreading” is where a man sits with his
legs set widely apart. It is a problem on public transport because it takes up
too much room. And it has also been thought of as a symbol of male aggression.
20-year-old Anna a law student, claims that
her actions are for everyone. For everyone who has to endure the men showing their macho
qualities on public transportation.
She says that men’s aggression is a big
problem and that she’s decided to tackle
it herself with her actions.
She says she has spread the bleach on about 70 male passengers. She says
that her bleach “eats colors in the fabric and leaves stains.” These stains act
as “identification spots. So everyone can know which body part controls the
behavior of these men.”
Her video received 1.3 million views
after being posted for only one day.
Russian news agency Rosbalt alleged that her video was fake. And that the men she poured the
bleach on are paid actors. But she insisted
that what viewers saw in the funny news video was very real.
