Mind Thought Passwords Could be the Future

The future of using passwords by inputting them as we do now might soon change. Researchers from the University of Berkeley in California have come up with an ingenious new device that might revolutionize the way we input passwords.
Instead of typing your password as you do now, you will just think it.
So how could this happen? It’s called brainwave-based computer authentication. Right now the researchers at Berkeley are looking at the feasibility of this new technology. The device they have come up with is called Neurosky Mindset headset, which is a $100 headset that can read brainwaves. They say that the new technology is safe and accurate and user-friendly. They are banking on the idea that people will be willing to replace passwords with pass-thoughts.
Furthermore, they believe this technology will take-off because it is more fail-safe and is and cheaper than things like fingerprinting scans, retina (eyeball) scans, or facial or voice recognition. The headset connects to a computer through wireless Bluetooth technology and is similar to Bluetooth headsets used by cell phones, MP3 players and other computer devices.
However, some security experts are skeptical about software that could hack people’s minds to extract secret information such as bank passwords and ATM secret pin numbers.
