The ultra-fast mobile internet would allow for rapid information to be shared between drivers.

Some car manufacturers are already integrating 5G into their vehicles. This will help to usher in the generation of self-driving vehicles. 

Experts think the high-speed connection will also make cars more reliable and able to do more things.

They predict the number of road traffic accidents will drop drastically. Now more than 1.3 million people in the world die from car accidents every year..

To have a better idea of what the future will look like, think of having Tesla-like cars. Teslas have sensors to check what's around them.  They can also talk to each other and share safety information. This information is shared over an area of about 5 square kilometers.

With the help of 5G, an early warning system to warn drivers is feasible within the next few years. Cars that are close enough to the danger area will send warning messages to other cars around them. And with 5G technology this can be much further away than only nearby cars.
