Why is a Famous Entertainer Using an old Flip-Phone?

Since making its debut, the video for Adele's new single Hello has had more than 45
million hits in just 48 hours.
Many fans are excited about the singer's
first new song in three years. But some fans are puzzled as to why she uses an old style flip-phone at the start of
the video.
Social media has been seeing a big number
of tweets about this.
Some of the comments trying to explain or
guess why she is doing this are:
“Adele really using a flip phone to tell
you how far back she's been hurting.”
“The new Adele song is beautiful,
emotional, and haunting. But the
most heartbreaking part of the video
is that she still uses a flip phone.”
The director of the video Xavier Dolan, has
revealed why he used an outdated phone. He said it's simply
because he "doesn't like iPhones".
In an
interview with the LA Times, Dolan said the online reaction to the
video had amused him. Xavier said all the online comments drive him crazy. Including
comments on Twitter. He said, 'guys, get
over it.’ It is not important.' But he said that the real reason for using
an old flip phone is that he never likes filming modern phones or cars. He said
that these things are so implanted
in our lives that when you see them in movies you're reminded this is normal
life.
If you see an iPhone or a Toyota car in a
movie, they destroy the story. They take you away from the story. If you put an
iPhone or a modern car in a movie it feels like you are making an
advertisement.
