Online dating can be hard.
It is especially hard when you get a lot of rejections.
How do you start a conversation? Is there a
'right' and a 'wrong' thing to say when you're trying to get someone you think
is pretty or interesting to like you?
One man who was frustrated that he wasn't getting any messages from ladies on
Tinder dating app decided to be creative. His creative solution to his dating woes was to dress up as a woman. And he
changed his name on Tinder to Simone.
Sy posted a video on his YouTube channel showing
his transformation into 'Simone'.
Why did he do it? He said: I am a single
man and I am becoming more and more frustrated with online dating.
He thought, “what if I was a woman? Maybe
I'd learn techniques from the men
who are trying to woo me."
Sy was surprised by the big number of
messages he received by becoming Simone. He held up his phone show the camera so
we could see exactly how many messages he had in his inbox.
Most simply said 'Hello', 'Hi' or sent a
monkey face emoji. But he did receive some strange and weird chat-up lines.
Others tried to take a more traditional
way. One admirer told him:
"Your eyes are beautiful. Nice to meet you."
He said that he had too many messages. He
could not answer them all. He was very popular as a woman. But what has he
learnt for his own dating experience online?
"A lot of these online messages you
would never say that to someone face to face. The best messages were the ones
that were honest and nice, and those were the ones that hit home.
"I think that's what I'm going to be
more like when I'm doing online dating. So yes, I'm going to go back to what it
was before. I will be just a guy on all the dating apps not getting many
messages."
If he was hoping to learn a great lesson
about chatting up women, he's probably disappointed by the results of his
experiment.
