Do you think face-to-face communication is better than such forms of communications as writing an e-mail or making a phone call? Give your opinion and specific reasons to support your idea.

직접 만나서 의사소통을 하는 것이 이메일을 쓰는 것이나 전화를 하는 것보다 더 나은 방법이라고 생각하는지를 묻고 있습니다. 어떻게 생각하시나요? 자신의 입장을 정해서 그렇게 생각하는 이유를 한 두 가지 정리해야겠네요. 만약, face-to-face 방식을 선호한다면 그 이유는 무엇이 될까요? 전화나 편지로 전달할 수 없는 상대방의 어조 ( the tone of the other person ), 그리고 바디 랭기지 (body language) 등이 자연스러운 의사소통에서 큰 부분을 차지한다고 이유를 들 수 있겠습니다. 반면에, 이메일이나 전화 등의 방법이 훨씬 낫다고 주장한다면 그 이유는 무엇이 있나요? 제일 먼저 떠올릴 수 있는 이유는 바로 바쁜 생활 속에서 모두를 직접 만나 대화할 시간이 없다는 점이겠죠. 따라서 전화나 글로 전달하는 것이 효율적이라고 말하면 되겠습니다. 이제 여러분의 답변 방향이 정해졌나요?

I think face-to-face isn't any better than any other form of communication. When I am on the phone, I can notice the other person’s feeling by listening to the tone of him or her. If I really want to see their face, I can simply use the video chat. Also, these days, I live a really busy life just like many people do, so l don't get a lot of free time to speak with my friends in person. Then there is email. Writing emails makes it possible for me to take time to think and proofread what I wrote not to make a mistake. If I am talking to a person face to face, I might have trouble coming up with a right word or expressions. For these reasons, I don’t agree with the idea that face-to-face communication is best.
