Dog 'fakes own death' when
not taken on his favorite walk
What
is interesting about a dog that fakes being dead?
What
habits or personalities do you find interesting in animals?
There is a dog in Scotland that likes to fake his own death. He does this to protest
after not being taken on his favorite walk.
Begbie throws himself on the ground and stays
without moving.
Surprised workmen rushed out of their van
to rescue the dog said Michele, Begbie’s professional dog walker. Michele told
how the four-year-old Old English Bulldog dropped to the floor when she turned
left instead of right from his street. Begbie does not care that Michele is
making the walk shorter because of the bad weather.
Begbie refuses to move and even turns his
head away “in disgust” when he doesn’t
get what he wants.
People were worried when they saw Begbie.
“I told them he was fine and just having a tantrum and sulking so he wouldn’t move because he was playing dead," said
the dog walker.
Begbie's latest acting went for one minute
but Michele said he's been doing them regularly for the past few months.
She said: “I’ve got used to it now so I
know not to drag him along. After about a minute he just gets up and then does
the same again a little later on.
“He’s adorable
and he’s full of energy, very opinionated
and has such a big personality.
She said Begbie is so unique. So I can’t get frustrated
at him.
“The walk he likes is about an hour and
even though he is big he likes to run with all the other smaller and more
energetic dogs.
“He adores walks and being in the
countryside and won’t come back to the van when the walk is finished.”
