[ Q ] I’d like to give you a situation and ask you to act it out. Your friend invited you to a restaurant that you’ve never been. Call your friend and ask her/him three or four questions about the restaurant.  

한 번도 가본 적 없거나 잘 모르는 장소에 대해 질문을 해야 하는 경우 가장 기본적인 질문은 ‘어떻게 거기까지 가는 것인가’ 입니다. 그 장소에 가기 위한 운송수단을 물어도 되겠죠. 또한 그곳까지 도착하는데 걸리는 시간도 좋은 질문이 될 수 있습니다. 레스토랑에 대해 질문하는 것이라면 레스토랑의 종류도 물어보겠죠. 음식의 메뉴가 어떠한 것인지 묻는 것에서 한 걸음 더 나아가 자신을 채식주의자(vegetarian) 이라고 이야기하며 채식 메뉴가 있는지 묻는 것 또한 외국에서는 드물지 않답니다.

That’s good to know! Then, can you tell me how long it usually takes to get there from the city center? Just 20 minutes? That’s not too far away from my work. Okay, I’m sorry to bother you, but I have one more question. As you know, I’m a vegetarian. What kind of restaurant is it? Do they have menus for vegetarians? Salads and Tofu steaks? Fantastic!
