Hello, Ms. Ranson. This is Ann Miller from human resources. I left you a message the other day about the interview scheduled at 10 A.M.. Well, that interview was actually for one applicant. But someone in our department made a mistake and double booked the interview. So now we have two applicants coming in for the interview at the same time. As soon as they come in, they will be given a tour around the work area, and then will be taken to your room to have the interview with you. Right after they're done with the interview at 10:40, they will be having the 2nd interview with the director. Both of them are coming from very far places, and it's too late to rearrange the interview for both of them. Could you please let me know how you can handle this situation? 면접 일정에서 실수가 있어서 같은 시간에 지원자 2명이 동시에 면접을 하러 오게 되었다는 내용입니다. 1차 면접관이 10시 40분까지 면접 후 이사님과 2차 면접을 하러 지원자가 가야 하는데 이 문제를 어떻게 해결하는 것이 좋을지 묻고 있네요. 해결책은 무엇이 있나요? 면접 전에 예정되어 있는 투어를 생략하고 지원자 한 명 당 20분씩 인터뷰를 하겠다고 해결책을 제시할 수 있겠죠.

Hello, Ms. Miller. I got your message about the interview schedule. You said that someone made a mistake when scheduling interviews and two applicants are coming at the same time. Well, I’ve thought about the problem after I got your message and came up with this idea. You said that a tour around the work is scheduled before the interview, right? I think we can change the plan and just start interviewing one applicant at a time for 20 minutes each. Then, they can be done with the interview by 10:40. Call the director to see if he can start the 2nd interview 20 minutes earlier than scheduled so that we can finish the whole interview in time. I’m pretty sure that the director will be able to adjust his schedule. Please make sure that you don’t make the same mistake in the future.
